Ford, Motorcraft® and NHRA are a perfect fit. In fact, Ford and racing go back to the turn of the century when Henry Ford himself won his first and only race in 1901. This helped convince businessmen to invest in his venture - Ford Motor Company.
For 2010, Motorcraft® continues its fast run in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing season. Bob Tasca III and Tasca Racing will again be piloting the 8,000- horsepower Shelby® Mustang Nitro Funny Car, sponsored by Motorcraft®, Quick Lane® and FordParts.com. This is Tasca’s third year in NHRA Funny Car competition. The team was formed in November 2007 and they have built a championship caliber team in less than three years.
In 2009, the Shelby® Mustang Nitro Funny Car earned two race wins including the prestigious Gator Nationals, one runner-up finish, 26 round wins and a place in the 2009 Countdown to 1. Tasca and his team plan to improve their solid performance in 2010.
